Youth training in Slovenia addresses also employment in sport

Association of Student Clubs of Slovenia (SKIS) hosted the training for youth workers, educators and trainers between March 9 and 16, 2015 in Bled, Slovenia.

The aim of the project was to educate a group of young people from different countries, equip them with soft skills training and empower them for quality knowledge transfer in their organisations, to encourage intercultural bonding and tackle the problem of youth employment through nonformal learning principles.

Presentations

At the trainer's course, through various methods and activities, with emphasis on peer-to-peer experience, 16 young trainers from four countries received valuable theoretical input and practical training for their independent work and effective knowledge transfer on nonformal level, share international experience from that field as well as discuss problems of youth unemployment and its possible solutions.

Brainstorming sessions

Mr Jaka Bassanese, outgoing EUSA Student Commission member, was also present at the training. Highlights of the Sport Employs YOUrope project, a project that deals with promotion of employability in and through sport were also presented and discussed in Bled. The result of the EU-funded project, lead by ENGSO Youth, with the European University Sports Association (EUSA) being a partner, are a development of a toolkit and establishment of a network of organisations and entities promoting employment training and opportunities related with sport.
