Youth Games in Lodz ahead of the EUG2022

Sports tournaments for children and teens in the most popular disciplines with prizes and many other family-friendly activities - this is what this weekend in Manufaktura Lodz looks like. The three-day event (June 10-12) is a preview of what awaits us in just a few weeks at the European Universities Games 2022.

The organizers of the sports event are EUG 2022 Organizing Committee from Lodz Technical University and Manufaktura.

Demonstration of beach handball

Yesterday, Manufaktura's market square turned into a place for recreation and fun with separate sports zones. The first day of the event was dedicated mainly to primary school students. Youth Games in Lodz consist of competitions for cups and medals in football, 3x3 basketball, volleyball, table tennis and climbing tournaments. After the games, workshops were held in all nine sports zones, part of the EUG programme.

Today is equally exciting, with participants being able to take part in training sessions and try out not only in team competitions but also in combat sports. A football tournament will be followed by a table tennis tournament. Parents and children are able to take part in a large chess tournament, and the day will end with a badminton tournament.

On Sunday, sports emotions will be generated by the 3x3 basketball tournament. For the fans of beach sports, the organizers have planned beach volleyball matches. On that day, another competition for medals will take place on the climbing wall.

During the event, there are also information booths and education zones. In the Lodz University of Technology sector, it is possible to see two solar-powered cars of the future, constructed by the Lodz Solar Team. There are also presentations of capabilities of the Mars rover, developed by the students of Lodz University of Technology.
