World University Championships

Alternating with the Universiades, every two years the International University Sports Federation (FISU) organises World University Championships for the sports accepted by the General Assembly and the Executive Committee.

 

The candidatures for the World University Championships for 2016 have been opened. The sports at the program of the FISU Championships are:

Badminton, Baseball, Basketball 3x3, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Bridge, Cross Country, Chess, Cycling, Equestrian, Canoe Sprint, Floorball, Futsal, Golf, Field Hockey, Karate, Long Track Speed Skating, Match Racing (Sailing), Handball , Netball ,Nordic Combined, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby Seven, Savate, Ski Jumping, Sport Shooting, Softball, Squash, Triathlon, Waterski, Canoe Slalom, Weightlifting, Woodball and Wrestling.

 

FISU Member Associations are invited to contact FISU for the guidelines and more information. Candidature submitted until August 31st, 2013 (at the latest) will be analysed and accepted candidates will be invited to present their bid during the month of October 2013 and the Executive Committee will select the candidates at its meeting in November 2013.
