Working meetings in Rotterdam

EUSA representatives, Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General and Mr Patrik Perosa, Sports Manager visited from April 13-15, 2014 the host city of the 2nd European Universities Games 2014 - Rotterdam. As April 15, 2014 was the extended deadline for registration to the European Universities Games 2014, this was the right moment for the meeting between EUSA and Organising Committee to discuss and finalise all the details regarding the organisation of this largest student sport event in Europe which will be held this summer.

EUG Tournament Director Mr Henk Smit and EUSA Secretary General discussed the progress report, focusing on the financial matters, accommodation, transportation and catering. Together with Ms Gaby Dijkstra, Communication Manager they discussed also the proposed protocol for the Opening and Closing Ceremony.

Having the number of university teams that will participate on the event known, Sports Director Mr Jack Jacobs and EUSA Sports Manager discussed the topics related to sports programme, competition schedule and format, sports venues, equipment and material.

 

The participants also agreed on the date of the next Supervision Visit, which will be held in Rotterdam on May 26 and 27, 2014. On May 28 the visit will be followed by NUSA coordination meeting, organised for the National University Sports Associations, members of EUSA, who registered their coordination teams and will have their university teams participating in Rotterdam this summer.

At the end of the visit, EUSA representatives also visited the main office of the Organising Committee, where they welcomed the interns, students working on the preparations of the European Universities Games.
