Work 4 Cause-Serve 4 Sport partners meet in Greece
Partners of the Work for a cause, serve for sport (W4C-S4S) project on volunteering in sport gathered for a two-day meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece from 6-7 of July, hosted and held in the premises of Social Innovation & Cohesion Institute - Fifty Fifty.
The focus of the W4C project is on volunteers, with the project aiming to assist with the education and preparation of volunteers across Europe, while also equipping them to assist people with disabilities at sporting events, thus fostering social inclusion, equal opportunities in sport.
The meeting started with a team building and getting to know each other and continued with the first part of the working activities. This part included presentations of the volunteers’ educational modules, mainly of the brochure design and a discussion on possible changes and updates.
At the second part of the working activities the participants had the chance to hear presentations from all the partners on the events they managed to hold and exchange some practical experiences between each other. The partner from Greece reported that their event is planned for September so they will update the partners with this part later.
After all the presentations, what followed was a presentation on capacity building activities, given from GEA - Social Cooperative Society from Italy. The participants got to see an excel spreadsheet with some important information and it was arranged a mutual decision to fill this document regularly, continuously, and dutifully.
The working activities continued with a presentation of the demo version of the mobile application given by representatives of City of Zagreb. What was presented was the main concept of this application and it was followed with a fruitful discussion full of suggestions and comments. This meeting was concluded with reflection discussion.
Throughout the reflection discussion, participants went over the content of the meeting, made final arrangements for future activities, agreed upon sending media content regularly and had the possibility to check some more promotional material and take photos with it. EUSA Institute was represented at the meeting by Mr Jan Martin Jamnik, one of the volunteers' mentors in EUSA.
The project is led by the City of Zagreb (CRO), partnering with the Municipality of Almussafes (ESP), Society for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (SLO), Institute for Social Innovation and Cohesion (GRE), GEA - Social Cooperative Society (ITA) and the EUSA Institute (SLO). The two-year project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
