Wheels continue turning in project iFlipp

The ErasmusPlus-funded project iFlipp continues to make steady progress following a virtual meeting with all partners, including the EUSA Institute, on Tuesday, March 23.

The iFlipp – Innovating Football Leadership through Practice and Policy – project looks to assess recent research in the representation of women and ethnic minorities (WEM) in leadership positions in football in order to develop a responsive inclusive leadership governance action plan at National and European levels.

The aim of the project is to increase and enhance leadership skills of women and ethnic minorities in football by creating and piloting a set of inclusive professional development training materials, transferable and adaptable for sport organisations.

Co-ordinated by the Fare Network (NED), the project involves six other partner organisations including Hawar.help (GER), Integrated Dreams (POR), Erasmus University Rotterdam (NED), Portugal Football Association (POR), Malta Football Association (MAL) and the EUSA Institute (SLO), all of whom were present in Tuesday’s meeting.

Following a short introduction and official welcome to new project partner Hawar.help, who had replaced DiscoverFootball who unfortunately were unable to continue in the project, a short update was given by the project co-ordinator.

Updated were then given from both the Malta and Portugal Football Associations who had organised roundtable discussions in their respective countries on the topic, before further discussions revolved around local leadership workshops which will be organised in both Portugal and Slovenia in the coming months.

Work put into the creation of a Massive Open Online Course was then presented, the project’s dissemination strategy was then outlined in detail while partners were also able to engage with the project’s external moderator, Ms Anika Leslie-Walker.

Work on the various training pack and other activities continues for all partners, with regular meetings planned for selected partner and the project co-ordinators, while future live meetings will be considered depending on the global situation.
