This month’s What’s up student column introduces our new members of the Student Commission. In December we had an addition of 4 new members as we said farewell to Bruno, Eileen, Magdalena and Marion. After serving 2 years with the STC, we are very happy to see the return of Nikola Vincetic after a successful re-election to the commission.

Our first introduction is from Anna from Hungary:
“My name is Anna Édes, I come from Hungary but I’m currently studying in Greece, doing my Master’s degree on Olympic Studies at the University of Peloponnese. I graduated in Sports Management at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and I spent one semester in Prague with Erasmus program. During my Bachelor studies I worked at the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation in event organisation.
Volunteering at the first EUSA Games in 2012 was my first contact with EUSA. It was a great experience for me so I joined the EUSA Volunteer Program in 2014 again for the Games in Rotterdam. To be more involved in university sport I spent 10 months in the EUSA Office in Ljubljana through the European Voluntary Service.
I am very glad to be the member of the Student Commission and hope I can contribute to the development of university sport.”

Seit is our second new member to the commission:
“I was born in Kosovo, but I now live in Slovenia, Izola - the most beautiful town on Slovenian coast! I speak Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, Italian and English and I’m currently finishing a Master's degree in Management from the University of Primorska.
I’ve played sport all of my life. I’ve played basketball, spent a few fights in Thai boxing but now I try to play the best I possibly can with my American football team.
My involvement with EUSA started last year, when I was in the organizing committee of EUC Koper 2015. I am passionate about university sport and and delivering the best possible experiences to students across Europe. I like to rise to new challenges and I wanted to broaden my reach of European University Sport, which is why I decided to stand as a candidate for the StC.
I’m really looking forward to the EUSA Games in Zagreb and Rijeka. I know their cultures and languages very well and I see this as a big and important project, that I am excited to get involved with.”

Last but my no means least, we have Katarzyna, also know as Kasia:
“I come from Poland, but I am currently living in Zagreb, Croatia working with the organizing committee for the EUSA Games 2016 within their volunteering area.
 I have been particularly interested in sports since I started my studies and joined the badminton team. I am a 4th year student of Finances at University of Economics in Poznań, where I also was a board member of University Sports Association for the years 2013-2015.
I’m really enjoying being an EVS long-term volunteer and seeing how an EUSA games is delivered. I love working with people and I’m really interested in sports management and volunteer development, so this position has been ideal to develop in these areas.”

We are so pleased to welcome Anna, Seit and Kasia to the student commission and we are very excited to see that the group are already working towards making your experiences better with EUSA STC projects.
