W4C-S4S project gets underway
Partners of the Erasmus+-funded project Work for a Cause, Serve for Sport (W4C-S4S), including the EUSA Institute, met online on Tuesday, March 30, to officially kick off the two-year initiative.
The focus of W4C-S4S is on volunteers, with the project aiming to assist with the education and preparation of volunteers across Europe, while also equipping them to assist people with disabilities at sporting events, thus fostering social inclusion, equal opportunities in sport.
Co-ordinated by the City of Zagreb (CRO), project partners include the Municipality of Almussafes (ESP), Society for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (SLO), Institute for Social Innovation and Cohesion (GRE), GEA - Social Cooperative Society (ITA) and the EUSA Institute (SLO).
Tuesday’s meeting allowed all partners to virtually meet and introduce themselves to each other, before the project’s aims, objectives, outcomes and activities were presented in depth by the project coordinators.
The EUSA Institute’s vast experience in working with numerous volunteers across several sporting events will be most useful in the project, which will look to collect data and conduct surveys with volunteers on their experiences, before creating modules to assist both volunteers and volunteer trainers in future.
A short question and answer session was then held before the conclusion of the meeting, where partners were given their tasks for the upcoming period.
