Uppsala awaits badminton players

With less than five months left until the start of the 9th EUC Badminton in Uppsala, Sweden, we are very pleased with the progress of our preparations for the Championship - says Josef Åhman, the President of the Organizing Committee and Secretary General of the Swedish University Sports Federation.

After the EUSA Convention in Slovenia, where the OC had valuable and productive meetings, focus has been on sending information about the event to all member federations and universities. The registration is open since November and the deadline for applications is January 1st, 2013.

As the second call will be open in January, the OC is promoting an Individual Entry Package. It will be possible to participate without having a team in the Team Tournament during the first part of the Championship. The registration will be done through the EUSA Online Tool, just as the regular registration, with a deposit needed to be paid. Since the individual draw take place Tuesday 7th of May, the fixed arrival day will be the same day. The departure day is the same as for all participants, Sunday the 12th of May.

"We are also working hard together with the two Universities in Uppsala, to plan and make the best of the day off, Wednesday the 8th of May, where a social events program will be available for everyone. Uppsala is known for its student nations and we would like the EUC participants to be able to experience the vivid student life and community which we are really proud of here in Uppsala," says Josef Åhman.

The preparations for the event will continue intensify in the upcoming months. The latest information will be posted on the website, so be sure to follow the event on www.eucbadminton2013.com.
