Upcoming September will fully focus on sport

September usually marks back to school activities and at the same time start of the new sports season, especially in sports-for-all and educational sector. This September will be specially marked also by two campaigns and initiatives – the European Week of Sport with its #beactive campaign, and the International Day of University Sport.

The European Week of Sport will be celebrated throughout Europe, with the official kick-off in Kosice, Slovakia on September 10, the flagship event in Brussels on September 15, and numerous national celebrations throughout September. Endorsed and coordinated by the European Commission, this is the second edition of the European Week of Sport, after the successful launch in 2015.

European Week of Sport

The International Day of University Sport (IDUS) was proposed by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organisation (UNESCO). It will be celebrated on September 20, and we will witness the first commemoration of this day in 2016.

International Day of University Sport

European University Sports Association (EUSA) is promoting both campaigns and initiatives, as the official partner of the European Week of Sport, and the associate member of FISU. Stay tuned for EUSA-led activities promoting each of them, and we invite you to #beactive also in organising and attending activities on your own!
