University Sports Federation of Kosovo elects new leader
Following the Electoral Assembly of the University Sports Federation of Kosovo (FSUNK) held at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Prishtina, Ms Diellza Kelmendi was voted in as the association’s new president.
Ms Kelmendi, who previously acted as FSUNK Vice-President, has been part of the federation since 2017, and takes over the organisation’s leadership for the next four-year term following elections undertaken at the Assembly on March 8.
“Together we will work to present university sports in the international arena, promoting our youth and our country. At the same time, in the face of the conditions created by the pandemic, we will soon resume the realisation of the University Leagues, interrupted due to Covid-19,” she said following her election.
During the assembly, Flamur Hyseni was elected as FSUNK Vice-President, while members of the Executive Board were also confirmed, namely Musa Selimi, Muhamed Krasniqi, Perparim Avdullahu, Abedin Bahtiri, Afrim Selimi, Gani Ibrahimi and Abdyl Beqiri.
Ms Kelmendi also thanked former President Mr Musa Selimi for the work done in the establishment of FSUNK.
Apart from the elections, 13 agenda items were discussed and decisions were made, including the election of the FSUNK Supervisory Council, the approval of amendments to the Federation Statute, the review and approval of the Annual Work Report and the Financial Report for 2020, while 2022 University World Handball Championship was also discussed, with Kosovo selected as the competition’s host country.
