University Sport at the Rectors' Conference in Slovenia

The Rectors of Slovenian Universities met on the national Rector's Conference on June 24 in Koper, Slovenia. The topics on the agenda also covered sport and university sport in particular.

Hosted by the Rector of the University of Primorska prof. dr. Dragan Marušič, the meeting was attended by the Rectors of the University of Ljubljana prof. dr. Ivan Svetlik; the University of Maribor prof. dr. Igor Tičar and the University of Nova Gorica prof. dr. Danilo Zavrtanik. The list of invited guests also included several experts and reporters, among them also Mr Patrik Perosa, Sports Manager of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).

Invited reporters and experts

Sports-related topics started with discussion about cooperation with the national Olympic Committee to stimulate sports activities at the universities. EUSA sports manager also presented the European Universities Games and reported that the delegation from Slovenia will count more than 200 participants.

Slovenian Rectors

Topics of discussion was also the international Rectors' Conference which will be held on July 12 and 13, accompanying the European Universities Games in Rijeka and Zagreb, Croatia. Over 50 participants have been confirmed to attend this event. The speakers list also includes the EUSA and FISU Presidents, Rectors from Europe, Ministers and special keynote speaker - NCAA President from the USA.
