The preparations for the very first ever European Universities Winter Sports Championships are in full steam and the interest for participation is already highly fulfilling the free available spots.

In the winter, the area attracts Alpine, downhill, and cross-country skiers, snowboarders, and mountaineers, as well as biathlon athletes, thanks to the new Palafavera platform. This is a paradise of fresh, powdery snow, also ideal for those seeking to discover unexplored itineraries on snowshoes.

This beautifully sounding and looking area is Val di Zoldo, Italy and that is the destination to be this December, from 18-21 taking part of the very first European Universities Winter Championship.  

If you are a university student and want to have the chance to participate in this European Universities Winter Championship, your chance to register is possible until 31st of October.

Competitions in Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Volleyball, will be featured and available for competition.

Three disciplines are foreseen to be featured in each of the sports: Slalom, Giant Slalom and Team Slalom. 

The Championships are being organized by CUS Venezia, in close collaboration with FederCUSI (Italian University Sport Federation), Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and Iuav University of Venice.

The attendees are expected to stay in the area for at least five days, making this event a major occurrence for the entire region: the organizers are committed to delivering a successful event that will promote the local environment and its values to a European audience, having also defined a collaboration with the Unesco Dolomites Foundation to promote sustainable tourism and provide specific guidelines and training sessions on environmental protection.

All events are open for men and women. Current students and recent graduates from European universities aged between 17 and 30 are legible to take part.

If all this caught your attention, being an university student willing to compete and show your best abilities in any of the disciplines, use the extended deadline and register through the respective National University Sports Associations (NUSA).

The deadline to register is 31st of October. Please contact the national university sports body in your country to register.
