Turkish University Sports Games
7th Turkish University Sport Games were hosted by Pamukkale University in Denizli between May 15 and 19, 2010. This great event was organized in eight sports: volleyball, basketball, handball, futsal, track & field, gymnastics, water polo and swimming.
From 70 different universities, 1900 athletes and 700 officials have participated in the games including not only sportive events but also cultural events. During the games, there was also a concert realized by Group Manga who performed for Turkey in Eurovision 2010.
In the 7th Turkish University Sport Games, many records have been broken by the athletes in Track and Field and Gymnastics events.
The Campus of Pamukkale University became an Universiade Village during the games for which more than 500 volunteers have worked.
The last day of the games coincided with the national festival called “19 May Youth and Sport Festival” presented to Turkish and also to all world youth by Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic.
