Switzerland: General Assembly SHSV
The General Assembly of the Swiss University Sports Federation, founded in 1932, was held at the University of Berne. The delegates of the SHSV/SUSF, received a review on the most successful year in the history of the SUSF.
Swiss students won 14 medals at the Winter Universiade in Harbin and 5 medals at the Summer Universiade in Belgrade. Many Swiss teams also participated at different European Universities Championships. The financial year closed with a loss of 7'500 Swiss francs, which is much better than the deficit of 65'000 Swiss francs which was in the budget. In the budget of 2010 the SUSF plans a profit of 95'000 Swiss francs. Credit Suisse, the main sponsor of the SUSF, prolonged the sponsorship contract for another year and assured the Swiss University Sports Foundation to be also sponsor for 2011.
SUSF-President Andreas L. Csonka was re-elected for another term of two years as well as the other members of the board, among them also Leonz Eder, EUSA Treasurer a.i. New candidates for the SUSF Committee were presented by the Federal Institute of Technology Zürich and the University of St. Gallen. The three students Christoph Böcklin, Isabel Collischonn and Marion Höchli were elected as new board members.
Finally the delegates accepted the progress reports from the Organising Committees of the World University Chess Championship 2010 in Zürich and the European Universities Tennis Championships 2011 in St. Gallen. Additionally they approved the candidature of Crans-Montana to bid for the WUC Golf 2014. This city in the Canton of Wallis is the host of the famous Omega European Masters which is played every year.
