Yesterday, the European University Sports Association sent a letter of support to the Sports Students' Union of Ukraine. International Olympic Committee published a statement on the breach of the Olympic Truce. Number of International Sports Federations also published their statements and took different actions in order to express solidarity and make efforts to protect safety and security of the athletes.

We are worried about our colleagues from the Ukrainian NUSA, we are worried about the students and university community of Ukraine, we are worried about the Ukrainian citizens and their safety.

We would like to ask you, the university sports community, to express solidarity with Ukraine. It is perhaps not much we can do, but let’s do what we can in our capacity. Each kind of the support is appreciated, each kind of support will be remembered, each kind of help is important for those who currently suffer and are victims of the situation they found themselves in, literally overnight.

To those of you who have already took some actions, we would like to express our thanks, and we hope the others will join soon.

EUSA is non political organization and political actions and decisions are up to the leaders of our countries, but we feel we have to voice our concerns and show support. We hope and believe that combined efforts will soon bring peace to Ukraine.
