Summer Universiade 2017 Heads of Delegation Meeting

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the local organisers of the Summer Universiade Taipei 2017 hosted the Heads of Delegation Meeting in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei between May 8 and 12, 2017.

Over 100 participants, representatives of delegations from 50 countries visited Taipei for the Heads of Delegation Meeting (HOD Meeting), during which the Taipei Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (TUOC) introduced all aspects of planning for the Universiade and enabled the delegations to inspect 16 competition venues, the Athletes’ Village and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies venue Taipei Stadium.

On May 11, the team sports draw was held, followed by a press conference, with participation of highest FISU and TUOC representatives.

Teams Draw

The Universiade represents a grand international sports stage for university students aged 17-28 as well as supports growth of many Olympic athletes. The HOD Meeting was held three months prior to the start of the Universiade to allow delegations to keep abreast of the various aspects of planning of the host city, such as athletes’ accommodation, transportation, medical services, food etc. Prior to the HOD meeting, the Summer Universiade Supervision Committee made their inspection visit to Taipei.
