The month of March was the starting point of the EUG 2024 ambassadors campaign, under the moto More than Athletes! 

During the month, a few interviews were published, sharing the experience and stories of different student – athletes, that will be involved in the European Universities Games 2024 in Debrecen – Miskolc, in Hungary.

Rauf Mohamed told us why it is good to both engage in sports and study at the same time. He also expressed why is it good to both engage in sports and study at the same time. Rauf invited all the young athletes to participate in the biggest sport event in the university world for this summer!

Barbara Földi shared which was her favourite EUSA event, how she is preparing for this year's Games, why it's important for her to study and play sports simultaneously, and what her best experience in university sports has been!

Volunteers also expressed what are the best parts of volunteering in sports event and invited all the young people to use the open volunteering positions, to apply and join for one of the best sports volunteering experiences offered this summer!

In March, the European Universities Games were also promoted in a few events organised around Hungary.

In the beginning of March, Budapest hosted the Cup of Carpathian Basin Universities with the participation of 5 countries and 89 universities, where 10 sports were featured for the participants to showcase their skills. EUG 2024 was promoted at the event, with a public stand, sharing merch and promoting the opportunities that the Games will offer.  

Every year, Miskolc hosts the popular Aspic Festival, which plays a prominent role in the city's traditions. During the three-day long period, visitors from the region can enjoy numerous programmes and concerts. At the event, people could encounter the Games' booth, where they could learn more about the European Universities Games and apply as volunteers for July.

We are happy to share that for us is a huge achievement for us to see such outstanding interest in this year's Games! The best proof is that the number of applications has reached or even exceeded the maximum capacity in the most disciplines. There are still some spots left, so you can still sneak in and spend a memorable two weeks of your life at Hungary!
