Students’ Cup 2016, devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, finished on December 15 with the men’s volleyball tournament.

The start of the games was in April, with over 1000 female and male student athletes from 16 state and private higher institutions taking part.

Altogether 7 championships were held in 4 sports: futsal, handball, basketball and volleyball.



The aim of the games is to develop sports in higher institutions in the Republic of Armenia, to spread sports games among students, and to celebrate Armenian independence.



To sum up 2016, it is worth to mention that during the year 5000 students in Armenia were involved in different sporting events. The 17th Republican Student Games and Students’ Cup were organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth Foundation of Armenia (YFA), Youth Organization of the Republican Party of Armenia and Armenian Student Sports Federation (ARMSSF).
