Bosnia and Herzegovina awarded their best sportsmen and sportswomen on January 25, 2012. The Sports Award Ceremony was held in the National Theatre in Sarajevo and was officially opened by the President of the Republic Mr. Zeljko Komsic.

The President welcomed the invited guests, speakers and athletes, also thanking European University Sports Association with its President Mr Alberto Gualtieri for the continuous support of the students sport in the Republic.

The Ceremony, broadcast live on Hayat TV, was attended by over 500 guests, among them also the President of National Sports Federation, Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, President of EUSA, President of NUSA, President of the National Olympic Committee, Members of the Government, Best Sportsmen and Sportswomen, Trainers, Sport Journalists and Sponsors.

During the event, the awards in several categories were presented, with a special award for the Best Student Athletes, presented by Mr Gualtieri. In his address to the audience, the EUSA President thanked the National Sports Federation and its President, Mr. Omer Stambolic, for splendid organisation. He congratulated the award recipients and wished them successful continuation of both their academic and sports career.
