SportAccord Convention 2016 also featured university sport

14th edition of the SportAccord Convention took place between April 17 and 22 2016 at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The annual event is a good opportunity for key decision-makers from sport and industry to meet, network, and strategically shape global, regional and national agendas. It is focused on driving positive change internationally and dedicated to engaging and connecting; rights holders, organising committees, cities, press and media, businesses and other organisations involved in the development of sport.

The event started with the welcomes and introductions by several prominent figures, including the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Mr Thomas Bach.

The Convention was also important for university sport, being represented by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). FISU not only had a promotional stand at the event, but also took the opportunity to sign several agreements with organisations like the International Triathlon Union, World Rugby, Russian International Olympic University and others.

Mr Adam Roczek, the President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) also attended the event, meeting with the FISU delegation.
