SHARE 2.0 COP on Health focuses on local and urban planning

The European Commission's initiative SHARE 2.0 started with hosting its second round of online Community of Practice (COP) capacity-building events; this time the focus was Health - Local/urban planning and health.

The second thematic online event was held on February 6, 2024. It was attended by several Community of Practice members, including representatives of the European University Sports Association (EUSA). The event was opened by Stefano Pintus, Policy Officer at the Sport Unit, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC).

The session then featured two speakers, presenting their experiences and projects, and after each presentation also having time for discussions and Q&A session.

European Mobility Initiatives were presented by Juan Caballero, Senior Project Coordinator at Eurocities. He shared the networks' main initiatives and teh many diverse actions taken by their members in local urban environments around Europe.

The second speaker Federico Serra, Secretary General of the Health City Institute, Cities+ and National Observatory on Health focused on Determinants of health in cities. From theoretical to practical approach, he shared key findings and some recommendations.
