Second Women’s Handball Conference held in Vienna

The second EHF Women's Handball Conference, exploring pathways 'From grassroots to professional sport and beyond,' took place in Vienna on December 10-11, alongside the Women's EHF EURO 2024. 150 attendees from 32 nations participated.

Lecturers and attendees included representatives of national federations and clubs, as well as top players both past and present. EUSA was represented at the Conference by Education and Development Manager Sara Rozman.

The Women's Handball Conference 2024 brought together leaders and experts from across the sport to discuss a wide range of topics. The conference was opened by EHF President Michael Wiederer and EHF Methods Commission Chairman Pedro Sequeira.

A keynote address was delivered by Elisabeth Cebrian, Head of Women in Basketball and Special Projects at FIBA. Cebrian spoke about the FIBA project “Her World, Her Rules,” which aims to empower women in basketball.

The conference also featured a panel discussion with handball leaders Andrea Lekic and Allison Pineau. Lekic and Pineau shared their experiences and insights on leadership in the sport.

This conference provided a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and best practices in women's handball. The diverse range of topics covered highlights the commitment to growth and development within the sport.
