Partners of the local hosts of the European Universities Games Belgrade 2020 invite Rectors of the European Universities to the Rectors’ Conference, playing an important part of the 5th European Universities Games. The Games are a unique opportunity to present our culture, tradition, scenery and historical monuments of Serbia’s capital city. The Rectors of European universities are invited to participate in the Conference which will be held on July 11 and July 12, at the University of Belgrade, focused at the sustainable development of university sports.

Belgrade has two state universities and several private institutions of higher education. The University of Belgrade, founded in 1808, is the oldest and largest university in Serbia. With enrolment numbers of nearly 100,000 students, the university is one of Europe’s largest. Belgrade is a true University City which makes it perfect to host the Games and accompanying events. In the period between July 12 and July 25, the City of Belgrade will host around 6000 participants, students from all around Europe in 19 sports, and two Para Sports.

During Rectors’ Conference, the heads of European universities will come together in order to discuss the state and possibilities of development of sports at universities. The platform will enable them to exchange ideas, experiences and examples of good practice in European universities. The participants of the Conference will also be invited to the Opening Ceremony of the 5th European Universities Games 2020 which will take place on July 12, 2020.
