On June 20, the Executive Committee meeting of the Russian Student Sport Union (RSSU) was held in Kazan.

The meeting was attended by the representatives from the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, RSSU EC members, and invited guests.

 

In the framework of the EC meeting, FISU 1st Vice-President, RSSU President Oleg Matytsin on behalf of the International University Sports Federation presented the FISU plaque to the President of Korston Group Anatoliy Kuznetsov and the Kazan-2013 plaque to the Director General of Korston-Kazan Rais Mubarakzyanov for the important contribution in organization and holding the XXVII Summer Universiade in Kazan.

 

The IV All-Russia summer Universiade opening ceremony was held next day, on June 21. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, RSSU President Oleg Matytsin, Head of the Department for developing summer sports and coordinating preparation for the FIFA World Cup of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation Grigory Kabelsky, Director of the Federal center of preparation of sports reserve of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kiselev, Russian State Duma deputy Ildar Gilmutdinov and the representative of the Ministry of  Education and Science of the Russian Federation Alexander Minaev.

 

The IV All-Russia summer Universiade include 15 sports, most of them have already became traditional: badminton, basketball, boxing, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis, tennis, swimming, sambo, taekwondo WTF, fencing, chess and a few new sports: rugby sevens and dancing.
