On November 18, 2015, the Russian Students Sport Union (RSSU), supported by the Moscow Government, organized the third Gala ceremony University Sport Stars in the State Central Concert Hall Rossia. The tradition of holding the national university sports Gala was successfully launched in 2013 as a celebratory event in honor of RSSU’s 20th anniversary.

On behalf of the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov the Aid to the President of the Russia Federation Igor Levitin welcomed the guests and organizers of the Gala.



The Gala was also attended by the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, member of the International Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Oleg Matytsin, Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Natalya Parshikova, Head of the Moscow Physical Culture and Sports Department Alexei Vorobyov, and more than 500 guests - the winners of the international and national university sports competitions, heads and representatives of local sports and educational authorities, national sports federations, delegations from 50 universities, the rector's community, Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, national sports legends.



Burevestnik awards were presented in 18 nominations among which are the best student-athlete and teams at the XXVII Winter Universiade and XXVIII Summer Universiade, best university, best university sports league. Special awards for significant contribution to the development of university sports movement were given to Russian Olympic Committee, national sports federations, state authorities, public organizations – RSSU partners.



The award ceremony was combined with bright performances of the Russian pop and dance artists.
