Prestigious Award for EUSA Board Member
The prestigious Bloudek Awards – the highest awards in the field of sports in Slovenia – presented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia were presented on Tuesday evening, February 4, with EUSA Executive Committee Member Mr Milan Zvan among the deserved winners.
The solemn ceremony took place in Brdo pri Kranju with more than 150 invited guests in attendance, among them EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik.
Following a welcome address by the Slovenian Minister of Education, Science and Sport Mr Jernej Pikalo, the evening’s awards were presented by the Bloudek Award Committee, chaired by Mr Miroslav Cerar, the legendary Slovenian gymnast, Olympian, President of the Olympic Academy and Ambassador for Sport, Tolerance and Fair Play.
A total of five Bloudek Awards and 11 plaques were awarded throughout the ceremony, with Mr Milan Zvan, EUSA Executive Committee Member and Chair of the EUSA Education Commission, the recipient of one of the five awards for his outstanding contribution to the development of Slovenian sport.
The four other awards were given to cyclist Mr Primoz Roglic, the winner of the 2019 Tour of Spain and Ms Eva Tercelj, World Champion in Kayaking, for their outstanding sport achievements, as well as swimming coach Mr Vladimir Cermak and chess official Mr Boris Kutin for their decade-long careers in sport.
