The 2021 European Universities Games in Belgrade, which will be hosted from July 14-27, is set to be the highlight of the 2021 European university sports calendar, in what will be the second-largest multisport event ever organised in Serbia after the 2009 Summer Universiade. Participants from over 400 universities across Europe are expected to compete in a variety of sports over the 14 days in Serbia’s capital city.
A total of 21 different sporting disciplines will make up the competition’s sports programme, namely Badminton, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, Chess, Football, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby 7s, Table Tennis (and Para Table Tennis), Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. There will also be a Sitting Volleyball competition as a demonstrative sport.
Alongside the sport competitions, the Games will focus on educational and social aspects of university sport in Europe, featuring conferences and workshops in the topics Anti-Doping, Inclusion, Dual Career, as well as a Rectors' Conference.
EUSA invites you to take a closer look at the sports programme to get your delegations ready ahead of next year’s Games, which is now less than nine months away. Please note that this is a preliminary schedule and is subject to change. The final confirmed schedule will be made available ahead at a later stage.
