Emotions ran high from the beginning until the end of the Portuguese National University Championships which took place in Coimbra between April 23 and May 5, 2017.

The Final Phases of the National University Championships involved more than 2200 athletes from 35 higher educations resulting 220 matches in exciting 15 competition days.



During exciting 2 weeks of high level competitions, finals were held in Basketball, Canoeing, Football, Futsal, Handball, Rugby 7s and Volleyball.



As FADU finals served as one of the test events for the European Universities Games 2018, also European University Sports Association (EUSA) took closer look of the event.



EUSA was represented by Mr Besim Aliti, EUSA Sports Manager, and several operational meetings and venue visits were organized with FADU and Organizing Committee of EUG 2018 during this event.



Both EUSA and Organizing Committee of EUG 2018 expressed their satisfaction with the level of the organization and agreed that this event, together with European Universities Championships in Judo, Karate and Taekwondo will truly help the Organizing Committee getting ready for the biggest university event in Portuguese history.
