At the Congress of the Swedish Sports Confederation, Mr Stefan Bergh, Honorary President of the Swedish University Sports Federation (SAIF) and the Vice President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), was awarded the Highest Order of Merit in Swedish Sports.

Mr Bergh received the award for his lifelong commitment to sports and sports leadership with focus on University Sports.



"I feel honoured but also humble as I will continue to work hard in the best interest of University Sports. The significance of sports in a society can never be underestimated. Sports, with its universal character, is important to gather and engage people. It is a vital bridge between people, nations and cultures," commented Mr Bergh upon receiving the award.
