Online EUSA Executive meeting

This past weekend the EUSA Executive Committee meeting was scheduled to take place in Belgrade, Serbia, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the participants met online on Saturday, April 4.

The meeting agenda encompassed several topics, among others detailed Office reports, scheduled EUSA sport events, EUSA proejcts and the EUSA General Assembly. Ms Rozman presented the EU-funded projects that finished at the end of 2019 and the projects that are running in 2020, among them UNISPORT, PRODUCE, GETZ, EMPATIA, Ed Media, AFE, Match Point, HALT, RYSE, SKYS and the iFlipp project. The main focus of the EUSA Executive committee members was nevertheless on the current situation and the European Universities Games in Belgrade.

As already reported, the largest university sport event in Europe was postponed until summer 2021, due to the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak. The new dates have been confirmed – the competition in the Serbian capital city will take place from July 14-27, 2021.

The EUSA Executive Committee also approved changes to the Regulations for the upcoming Games, giving more flexibility and allowing those who qualified to take part in the event this year, to also be legible to compete in the event in 2021.

Adapting to the new situation, EUSA Executive Committee members will also meet online for the next meeting, closely monitoring the situation and staying in contact in between.
