On April 21, the European Parliament Sports Group and the UEFA Foundation for Children hosted an online discussion Youth spaces after COVID-19: Sport in flourishing communities.

The event was moderated by Ms Iris Abraham, Member of the Cabinet responsible for EU strategy on the rights of the child, European Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography, and the opening address and introductions were given by Mr Dragos Pislaru, Member of the European Parliament, Vice-Chair of the EP Sport Group, and Mr Urs Kluser, Secretary General of the UEFA Foundation for Children.



In the panel discussion, representatives of the European Youth Forum, Royal Belgium Football Association and Surfrider Foundation Europe shared their work and experiences working with youth in general, and also in the times of the pandemic, what values are tehy communicating and promoting, and the ways of engagement and sustainable approaches.



After the Q&A session and discussion, the concluding remarks were given by the Head of the Sport Unit of the European Commission Ms Floor van Houdt and Co-Chair of the EP Sport Group Mr Tomasz Frankowski.
