Norwegian Association of University Sports elect new Board
Following their General Assembly last month, the Norwegian Association of University Sports elected a new Board for the next three-year period, with Mr Adrian Stinessen Haugen voted in as the new president.
The General Assembly took place in Oslo from February 28-March 1, where attendees first approved a change of composition of the board, which will now be consist of the President, two Vice-Presidents, four board members as well as one deputy board member.
The President and Vice Presidents were elected separately, before a collective election of the remaining board members.
At the completion of the elections, the new board for the period 2020-2022 was confirmed as follows:
President: Adrian Stinessen Haugen
Vice Presidents: Kjell-Erik Kvamsdal, Pauline Sjovold
Board members: Even Kallevik, Ragnhild Nygaard, Sigrid N. Rod, Martin Sikkeland
Deputy board member: Elisabeth S. Kristensen
At the General Assembly, a new strategy for the next four years was approved, with one of the association’s main goals being to encourage more students to continue with sports and physical activity throughout their life.
The goal is to inspire students who only do sports for the social or health benefit of it as well as aspiring athletes hoping to pursue a further career within sports.
