New rowing champions are known
European Universities Games Rotterdam 2014 moved well into its second phase today, with competitions in rowing concluding, and having the General Technical Meetings for the sports which start tomorrow – basketball, football and volleyball.
 
Rowing competitions were held at the new Willem-Alexander baan rowing course in great weather conditions and friendly atmosphere. Participants from all over Europe took part in 19 different classes, including the most prestigious university teams in eights.

M8+ medallists
 
After today's finals, the title of champions and the best men's eight went to the Szechenyi Istvan University (HUN) and the title of best women's eight to Newcastle University (GBR). Men's Pair (M 2-) had the biggest number of boats, and the champions' title went to the students from the home university - Erasmus University Rotterdam. Today also General Technical Meetings announced tomorrow's start of competitions in basketball, football and volleyball. At the meetings the teams were introduced the rules and draws were made, defining the match competition schedule for the preliminary rounds. All competition schedules are published online and accessible via the official app.
