New EUSA Student Commission meets online
The EUSA Commission with the youngest members, which is at the same time one of the Commissions with the longest tradition – EUSA Student Commission, met yesterday online, first time after new members were appointed end of last year.
At the start of the meeting, members were welcomed by EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik.
Chair of the Student Commission, student representative and member of the EUSA Executive Committee Ms Flobena Nikolli also welcomed the members and opened the operational part of the meeting. Members EUSA Student Commission (STC) also shortly presented themselves, and you can get to know more about them in the last student column.
Organisation and activities of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute were introduced by EUSA Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl, who also serves as the Secretary of STC. Specific focus was given to the upcoming European Universities Games in Lodz, Poland.
EU and FISU-supported projects and initiatives were then presented, as well as networking with key EUSA partner organisations, most relevant for the STC those focusing on youth and students – FISU, ENGSO Youth and ESU.
A discussion was held on the marking of the key events, including the European Year of Youth, the International Day of University Sport, the European Week of Sport and the International Students’ Day.
STC will continue with regular online meetings throughout the year, and other EUSA Commissions will also meet online in the upcoming months.
