In Azerbaijan, the 11th National Universiade is taking place between March and May 2013, organized by the Freewill Student Sport Society of Azerbaijan "Genjlik". Over 30 universities are participating in 12 sports, namely athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, draught, handball, judo, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling (free and Greco Roman style).

By the end of March, competitions in martial arts – Judo & Wrestling and mind games – Draught and Chess finished.

In Martial arts. over 200 athletes took part, with the Azerbaijan Medical University winning the competitions in Judo and Wrestling, Greco-Roman Style. The same university also won the competitions in draught; while the Baku State University won the Chess competitions.



Other competitions will be carried out until the end of May 2013.
