National Universiade in Albania

On the occasion of the first century of Albanian’s independence, the final phase of the Albanian Sports Universiade was organised from November 23-25, 2012 in Tirana.

20 public and private universities from Albania as well as some invited universities from the region participated in this  important sport event, that was held in 7 sports disciplines (female, male) – basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, table-tennis, chess.

Women's volleyball matches

The matches in groups were played in during November in the cities of Tirana, Pristina, Shkodra, Korca and Elbasan.

Flags

The final match of the event was the basketball match between the male teams of the University of Pristina and the Tirana Sport University, that was also broadcast on the National TV. The winner of this match was the University of Pristina.

Basketball finals

In the final ranking of the Universiade the first place was won by Tirana Sports University.

EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, invited by the Albanian Students Sports Association (ASSA) and the University of Sports of Tirana, beside the official meetings with the authorities also had an opportunity to visit the university sport facilities in Tirana as well as observe some of matches on the national universiade.
