National championships in Montenegro
Students Sports Association of Montenegro during an academic year organizes National University championships in 15 different sports, as well as three university leagues (Futsal, Basketball, Volleyball). Almost all University Championships have already been held, the rest is to organize the Montenegrin University Championship in karate. The best from that Championship will represent Montenegro on the World University Karate Championship, which will be held in Bratislava in July 2012.
Certainly the most interesting competitions are university leagues in Futsal, Basketball and Volleyball.
University Futsal league in 2011/2012 consisted of 15 teams, which were divided into two groups, and after played 8 rounds of the league, the best four teams from both groups have won a place in the play off. Championship title, the fourth consecutive time won the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education’s team from Niksic, which is in the finals with a 4-0 (1-0) defeated the Faculty of Economics’ team from Podgorica.
University league in Basketball consisted of 10 teams, which were divided into two groups and after 5 rounds of the league, the two best placed teams from both groups played in play-off. The title was given to the team of Faculty of Economics, which is in the final game was better than University of the Mediterranean’s team - 48:38.
Faculty of Economics’ team was the best in university Volleyball league also. They won the title on the impressive way, their opponents in the league, as well as in play off, haven’t won any set. In the final game, Faculty of Economics were better team than Faculty of Electrical Engineering from Podgorica with 3:0.
