Multipurpose EUSA visit to St. Gallen
The Swiss city of St. Gallen hosted Secretary General of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, who travelled to St. Gallen to meet different stakeholders related to EUSA, the European Universities Golf Championship 2015, the Swiss University Sports and Credit Suisse.
First Mr Pecovnik paid an inspection visit to the Hotel Säntispark, the official hotel of the EUC Golf 2015. He assisted EUSA Vice-President Mr Leonz Eder and EUSA Technical Delegate for Tennis Mr Daniel Studer during a presentation about EUSA and the EUC Golf in a meeting of the Heads of Administration of St. Gallen University under the leadership of Mr Markus Brönnimann, Executive Director.
While Mr Eder, who is also the Head of Sports at St. Gallen University, one of Europe's leading business universities, presented the structure and activities of EUSA, his deputy Mr Studer gave an overview of the EUC Golf to be held from September 14-20, 2015. St. Gallen has already organised the EUC Tennis in 2011.
EUSA Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik thanked the leadership of St. Gallen University for the continuous support of University sport locally, nationally and internationally, by also hosting the Headquarters of the Swiss University Sports Federation since 1992. He then presented EUSA gifts to Mr Markus Bronnimann, who was a guest at the EUC Beach Volleyball in Kazan 2011, and to Mrs Myriam Schmuck, Head of HR and Sports. He also visited the Executive Campus of St. Gallen University where protocol events during the EUC Golf are foreseen to take place.
Another meeting was organised with Mr Raphael Isenrich, Vice-President of Credit Suisse St. Gallen. EUSA has good relations with this bank, and Mr Isenrich assured Pecovnik and Eder that he will do the best in order to ensure the optimal banking portfolio of EUSA.
As the last station of this intense visit, Mr Pecovnik was introduced to the Golfpark Waldkirch, where the OC with its President Mr Studer will organise the EUC Golf next year. Mr Philipp Greutmann, Tournament director, and one of the Pro's explained the concept and structure of the Golfpark Waldkirch with it's 36 holes.
