Prof. Dr. Gyöngyi Szabó Földesi (HUN), member of the FISU CESU Commission and the Hungarian University Sports Association representative at the last EUSA General Assembly in Valencia 20006, was awarded with a high rank state order of the Hungarian Republic, the so-called "Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, Officers' Cross."

Mrs Földesi received the award because of her outstanding activity in sport sciences, especially in sport sociology, in sport related public life, and because of her committed work to popularize "sport for all" in Hungary. The award was also a consequence of her appointment as Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
