Midterm evaluation training for EVS Volunteers 2016

International European Volunteer Service (EVS) volunteers located in Slovenia gathered in Dolenjske Toplice, Slovenia, for the EVS Midterm Evaluation between March 21 and 24, 2016. Ms Anett Fodor and Mr Romain Charrier, both EVS volunteers in the European University Sports Association (EUSA) took part in the activities, as other 30 volunteers currently doing their service in Slovenia.

Organized by Movit, the national Youth in Action agency of Slovenia and run by 2 qualified and experienced youth trainers and 2 youth trainers, the participants were able to reflect on their projects and involvement in each hosting organization. The planning of the training was left to the participants – the volunteers had to agree and make their own planning for this training, so that it suits better to their needs.

The volunteers had the chance to talk about their projects, or get inspired for new ideas, learned about methods and project implementation. It was also a great chance to socialize with other volunteers and make connections. After some activating games they also exchanged information about the life after EVS, including volunteering for sport events. Ms Fodor used this opportunity to animate a workshop on the topic 'How to get the best of something' using this direct practical experience also to have professional feedback. This training also offers the possibility to work on the Youthpass, European recognition tool for non-formal and informal learning in youth work.

EVS is a mobility programme within the Erasmus+, the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport, helping young people from Europe and programme countries to develop their sense of solidarity by participating, either individually or in group, in non-profit, unpaid voluntary activities abroad. Within EUSA, EVS and internship as long-term training opportunities are also supported by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
