Midterm evaluation training for EVS Volunteers 2015

Midterm evaluation training for EVS Volunteers 2015

More than 15 international Volunteers located in Slovenia gathered in Ankaran, Slovenia, for the EVS Midterm Evaluation between April 13 and 16, 2015. Ms Anna Édes and Mr Niels Nürnberger, both European Volunteer Service (EVS) Volunteers and Project Assistants in the European University Sports Association (EUSA) participated. For the first time Mentors were invited so that Mr Andrej Pišl, Communications and Projects Manager in EUSA was able to attend part of the training.

Organized by Movit, the national Yout in Action agency of Slovenia and run by 2 qualified and experienced youth trainers, the participants were able to reflect on their projects and involvement in each hosting organization. Before the mentors left on the second day they had the opportunity to exchange questions and information with the volunteers about their experiences so far and how to improve. Afterwards Movit and the Mentors sat together for more detailed conversations and help.

The next days volunteers talked about their projects, or inspired for new ideas, learned about methods and project implementation. After some activating games they also exchanged information about the life after EVS, including volunteering for sport events.

Activating EVS volunteers

EVS is a mobility programme within the Erasmus+, the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport, helping young people from Europe and programme countries to develop their sense of solidarity by participating, either individually or in group, in non-profit, unpaid voluntary activities abroad. Within EUSA, EVS and internship as long-term training opportunities are also supported by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
