Midterm evaluation training for ESC Volunteers 2019

Slovenian national agency Movit organised a midterm training between July 8 and 11 for volunteers which are currently doing their European Solidarity Corps (ESC) service in Slovenia. EUSA’s volunteer Kieran Slocum from Ireland also took part in the training.

The very #beactive event was organised as a series of hikes, workshops, trainings and reflections, starting in Maribor and the surrounding hills. This was a new and interesting approach to MOVIT's evaluations, and the participants enjoyed it very much.

Outdoor workshops

The participants started their training with discussions about their experiences so far, reflected on what they learned, participated in group activities such as group reflection.

During the four days, the volunteers, facilitators and representatives of Movit did several hikes and stayed in two different mountain lodges. As part of the hikes, the participants also took part in group exercises such as discussing group questions that related to the past, present and future experiences with our EVS.

The volunteers took the initiative to cook the dinner which was a great success, they were able to take a swim in a pond as well as enjoy the food and hospitality.

The volunteers were able to expand on their experiences while also gaining valuable information about future opportunities after their volunteering service concludes.
