1. How did you get involved in judo, as a sport discipline?
I took my first steps on the judo mat as a toddler, as my parents took me onto the mat with them as a judo coach from an early age. I then had my first proper training at the age of five. As a child, I was always on the move and was full off energy, so judo was the perfect sport for me. A few years later, I still enjoy it and am happy about the experiences and encounters I have been able to gain through the sport.

2. Did you already take part in EUSA events before or is it your first time?
I took part in an EUSA event, the European Universities Combat Sports Championships, for the first time last year and came third. Fortunately, we were also able to compete with a team from the University of Cologne and thus also gain valuable experience in the team competition.

3. Otherwise did you compete in other national and international sports events? Which ones?
On the one hand, I take part in national tournaments. For example, I came third at the German women's championships in 2023. I also take part in European Cups at international level.

4. How are you preparing yourself for participating in the European Universities Games 2024?
I'm currently spending a study semester abroad in Paris. I'm taking the opportunity to prepare for training with my french partners. This allows me to improve both my technical and physical performance.
5.What are you looking forward to experiencing at the European Universities Games 2024?
I am looking forward on the one hand to the international exchange with the students and on the other hand to the competition. Last year's third place motivates me that I can build on the performance, hopefully even improve my performance and take part in the final.
6. What are some specific goals that you set for you and your team for the Games?
My goal is to perform as well as possible on the day and to have a good focus in the competition in order to win a medal. Of course, I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for my German team-mates. It would also be great if we could also deliver a good harmonious performance as a team. Last year we had a very good atmosphere in the team, which helped us to perform well.

7. What impact do you think that the Games can have on your future career in sports or in your personal and university life?
In addition to the sporting experience gained through participation, the experience can also be transferred to life outside of sport. Some athletes who put a lot of effort into their sport take part in the EUSA European Universities Games. You can see that ambition and discipline can support successful studies. You can develop personally through the various challenges and different cultural perspectives.
8. How do you feel about the cultural erxchange aspect of the Games, where athletes from different European countries come together to compete but also interact with each other?
Especially in times when there are many challenges at international political level, the EUSA Games can demonstrate the international network of athletes. Sport strengthens international relationships and friendships and demonstrates peaceful and respectful interaction, including at an academic level. This should be a guiding principle and I am delighted to be part of it.

9. What are you most excited for when it comes to your participation in the European Universities Games 2024?
I particularly enjoy the team atmosphere and the atmosphere between the different participants. The EUSA Games give you an insight into different sports at an international level. It is therefore a good opportunity to exchange ideas with other nations and make new contacts.
10. What would be your final message to other student athletes like you?
My appeal to you: It is important to believe in your goals. The most important thing iπs not to stand still, but to keep working. This is the easiest way to reach your goal. And don't forget to enjoy it!
