Media role in the promotion of the European dual career culture
Today, an online event on the Media role in the promotion of the European dual career culture was held in form of a virtual cafe.
The event was hosted by the European Athlete as Student (EAS) network, was moderated by Mr Andrej Pisl, EUSA Communications and Projects Manager, and had two guest speakers - Ms Flavia Guidotti and Mr Andreas Kuttel who shared their experiences and insights into the topic.
Ms Guidotti is a former athlete, did a PhD on dual career, and works as the physical trainer of the AO THIRAS Santorini volleyball team (Greece). Mr Küttel is a Swiss former world champion and five-time Olympic athlete in ski-jumping, and works as an assistant professor at the University of Southern Denmark, and sports psychological consultant.
The event was also an opportunity to showcase a project, Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union entitled Media as a Channel of Athletes’ Dual Careers Promotion and Education (Edmedia), through which an online educational programme has been developed, facilitating a more positive attitude towards athletes’ dual career in and through the media, and to encourage stakeholders to contribute to the improvement of conditions for dual career athletes.
