Welcoming all guests, the President pointed out, that this year Lithuanian students achieved honourable results and victories at the Summer Universiade in Bangkok. Mr Adamkus believes that athletes achieved victories with strong effort and patience with support from the entire nation. A special joy was brought by Lithuanian academic victories at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Thailand.

For aspiring victories in Bangkok, Viktorija Zemaityte, the champion of Bangkok Universiade and Ceslovas Garbaliauskas, the President of Lithuanian student’s sports association were awarded Lithuanian Order of Merits. President’s commemorative medals, honourable mentions and keepsakes were given to others sportsmen.
