Legion of Honour awarded to university sport official
Last month on April 28th, an award ceremony took place in the Town Hall of Toulouse in France, to award Mr Jean-Francois Sautereau, former President of the French University Sports Federation, and former Executive Committee member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).
Mr Sautereau received the medal of Knight (Chevalier) in the National Order of the Legion of Honour. This is the highest French national distinction, which was this year awarded to over 500 civilians, and Mr Sautereau is one of them.
The prize was awarded under the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, with Mr Sautereau being also a former President of Toulouse University. Present at the ceremony were also Colonel Jean Honnorat, EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and other distinguished guests. The award was presented by the Mayor of Toulouse Mr Jean-Luc Moudenc, declaring that it was “A fair recognition of a lifetime of commitment to the university and university sports”.
Mr Sautereau also received EUSA Order of Merit at the occasion of the EUSA General Assembly in September last year.
EUSA congratulates Mr Sautereau for this recognition, and thanks him for his service.
