July 21: Table Tennis and Badminton team events conclude

 

Badminton and Tennis table Team event finals 

 

Thursday July 21st has been dedicated to two very fast racket sports: badminton and table tennis.

In the badminton competition, the team event final went until the very last and deciding game between the University of Strasbourg (FRA) and Uludag University (TUR). The Turkish team clinched the gold thanks to its women players who won the women’s double match being played last. 

 

The bronze medal was shared between the University of Rouen (FRA) and the Erzincan University (TUR) 

 

The University of Ljubljana (SLO) was awarded the fair-play trophy.

Medals were presented by Aitor Canibe Sanchez, EUSA Executive Committee Member, Alison Odell, EUSA Honorary Member and Mr. Miljenko Šimpraga, Vice-rector of University of Zagreb.

 

EUSA also thanks Badminton Europe for the newly established collaboration.

The Table Tennis team even saw two very different scenarios unfolding in front of the spectators.

In the men’s competition, a very hard fought final went until the very deciding match before the Russian State University for the Humanities (RUS) could claim the gold over the The Angelus Silesius State School of Higher Vocational Education in Walbrzych (POL).

Bronze medal was shared between the Technical University of Ostrava (CZE) and Kozminski University (POL)

In the women’s competition, the Russian State University for the Humanities also claimed gold in a swift final won against the Institute of Economics Management and Law Kazan (RUS).

 

The University of Zagreb (CRO) and Kozminski University (POL) shared the bronze medal.

 

Awards were presented by Andrzej Hrehorowicz, EUSA Technical Delegate for Table Tennis and Ivana Čuković-Bagić, Vice-rector of the University of Zagreb.
