Italy’s CUSI elects new President

Following Italian University Sport Center - Centro Universitario Sportivo Italiano (CUSI)’s general assembly, Mr Antonio Dima was elected as the association’s new president for the next four-year period.

The elections took place at the Coni "Giulio Onesti" Hall of Honour at the end of November.

Dima was previously CUSI’s Secretary General, and takes over from former President Mr Lorenzo Lentini, who was since elected onto the Executive Committee of FISU, the International University Sports Federation.

On the 64-year-old’s agenda are meetings with the heads of universities, CUS and sports federations across Italy as he seeks to begin his tenure on the right footing.

“We start motivated and concrete, to stay close to the University sports centers and surrounding areas,” Dima said. “We are aware of the evolution and importance of sport in universities, and we will have the utmost attention for inclusion and sharing.

"We have rolled up our sleeves – important work awaits us. Knowing the past is fundamental to understanding the present and planning for the future.”
