IOC President Mr Bach visit to Slovenia

President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Mr Thomas Bach visited Slovenia on April 15, 2016. The reason for the visit of the IOC President was the opening of the Olympic Educational and Museum Centre in Ljubljana which was also the first point of the official program.

Accompanied by Mr Bogdan Gabrovec, President of Olympic Committee of Slovenia, Mr Miroslav Cerar, President of Slovenian Olympic Academy, Mr Janez Kocijancic, Vice-President of the European Olympic Committee; as well as many famous Slovenian Athletes, IOC President after the official opening of the centre visited also the new NOC Headquarters.

Mr Bach met also with the highest representatives of the Republic of Slovenia, President Mr Borut Pahor and Prime Minister Mr Miro Cerar. During his stay in Ljubljana, IOC President ran 400 meters as a part of the project “Catch the Olympic Norm” in the company of President of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia Mr Bogdan Gabrovec, President of the Republic of Slovenia Mr Borut Pahor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mrs Maja Makovec Brencic.

In the evening, Mr Bach and invited guests, among them also EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, who as well attended several activities during the day, participated on the Gala held at the Ljubljana Castle, with Charity Event for the athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds.
